Armand C. Crespo is a veteran coach and educator with more than 30 years of experience at the high school, collegiate, and club levels. Since arriving at Pasadena High School, he has overseen a period of historic success, including the school’s first CIF-qualifying girls’ Cross Country team, a simultaneous boys’ CIF qualification, 11 CIF Track & Field qualifiers, and a CIF Masters Meet finalist during the 2025 season.

Coach Crespo began his coaching career in 1991 following a competitive running background at San Gabriel High School and Pasadena City College. He has served as an assistant track coach at Cal State LA and currently teaches in the Kinesiology Department at Pasadena City College. He is also the founder of the Fortius Altius Citius Training Club, where he has coached athletes to qualify for competitions ranging from the Boston Marathon to the Olympic Trials.

A lifelong runner, Coach Crespo recorded a personal-best marathon time of 2:29 at the 1991 St. George Marathon. He holds a Master of Science in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Cal State LA. He is a USATF Certified Coach and CPR/First Aid certified.

Beyond Pasadena High School, Coach Crespo serves as President and Board Member of FACT Athletics, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting youth athletics through events such as the Pasadena Games and Rose City XC Challenge.
